Being assistant tutor in Moscow State Conservatory since 2014, Irina Sopova is now in charge of both solo classes and the course of Orchestral Excerpts. In addition, she was a guest tutor during the sessions of the Russian Youth Orchestra and the Siberian Youth Orchestra in various cities of Russia, and taught extended techniques and contemporary repertoire masterclasses during the Second (2020) and Third (2021) Workshop (Practicum) held by Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble. Furthermore, she held masterclasses in Los Andes University in Bogota (Colombia), which exposed her to the teaching practices of a different international educational institution.
As a versatile professional, alongside her teaching career, she is an experienced performer and have been a member of and a soloist with several orchestras, which allows her to give students professional guidance as well.
